Lilian MITCHELL was born on 7 January 1881 at 8 Court Brightmore Street, Sheffield. She married Charles George LEMONS on 26 December 1909. They lived most of their married life in Fawcett Street in the Netherthorpe area of Sheffield. Lilian died on 17 November 1937 from breast cancer. She was just 46. Ironically her daughter Marjorie died from cancer on 20 November 1967 aged just 43. Lilian died leaving her two youngest children aged 13 and 9. Her husband Charlie, as he was known to everyone, never remarried. There are only two known photographs of Lilian. The first photograph looks like it could have been taken in the 1920's, the other photograph on the far right was taken at her son William's wedding in 1934, three years before she died.

When I fist saw the photo of Lilian with her childlren and worked out who the children were I thought there seemed a big gap between the eldest William (Bill) B. 1910 and the next child Lilian b. 1914 so I did a bit of searching and found a child called Ernest who was born on 12 January 1912 and died bronchitis on 4 March 1912. But she went onto have six more children after Ernest died.
